Parking risk levels explained

The colours

Each parking spot is coloured by enforcement history within 150 metres over the last 7 days:

• Green — low risk, little or no recent enforcement.
• Yellow — some recent enforcement nearby.
• Orange — frequent enforcement nearby.

The red pulsing ring

A pulsing red ring around a spot means a warden was reported active within 800 metres right now. Private car parks never show the red ring — council wardens don’t patrol them.

Parking types

• Street parking — kerbside space, shown as a plain P marker.
• Public car parks — council-run or open to everyone.
• Private car parks — belong to businesses; only park there if you’re entitled to. They’re enforced by private operators, not council wardens.
• Residential zones — need a permit.

Whatever the type, the marker’s colour always shows the enforcement risk described above.

Where the data comes from

Risk ratings are built from the community’s own warden reports. Parking details come from community submissions, council open data and OpenStreetMap — some imported entries carry a “verify locally” hint until drivers confirm them on the ground.
